( Tomas Kral - left ) Born in 1979 in Slovakia, Tomas Kral received a Master of Advanced Studies in Design for Luxury & Craftsmanship from ECAL. Established in 2008, Tomas Kral is a product design studio based in Lausanne in Switzerland. In the context of industrial production and research, Kral's approach to design is characterized by a clear preoccupation for materials and process.
Kral often takes inspiration in the tradition and he infuse his objects with unexpected ideas, humor and freshness. In order to find a creative approaches, simple and innovative solutions he frequently observes and experiment with craftmanship and the knowledge of manufacturers.

( Stéphane Halmaï-Voisard - right ) Born in 1980 in Montreal, Canada, Stéphane Halmaï-Voisard graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), before studying Product Design at ECAL/University of Arts and Design Lausanne, Switzerland. In addition to his studio and consultancy work, he also teaches industrial design at ECAL, where he has been the Head of Industrial Design BA department since 2014.
His work has been exhibited and is part of the collections of the Museum für Gestaltung, Zürich; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Musée de design et d’arts appliqués contemporains (MUDAC), Lausanne; and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ), Québec.
